AUDITING & INSPECTION MANAGEMENT

THE SOLUTION

A web and mobile application built to streamline and automate the scheduling and completion of audits and inspections for a contractor providing services for a large city municipality.

The solution included a central calendar and dashboard to track compliance and performance management of the contractor’s duties as well as a mobile app allowing field inspectors and auditors to capture their findings digitally and attach required images and documentation where required.

THE CLIENT

A multi-national company rendering Specialised services relating to city management. Their client, a major municipality servicing a city with a population approaching 4 million. The DEVUM-built solution is intended to be rolled out to additional clients going forward.

THE PROBLEM STATEMENT

LIMITATIONS OF EXISTING SOFTWARE

The existing software was not meeting the contractors' needs, specifically around scheduling audits and inspections. The software provider was not willing or able to make any modifications. There was a distinct need for a bespoke solution for the contractor to fulfil its duties effectively.

DEVUM’s open-ended approach allowed the client to produce a completely customized solution & make adjustments after initial use of the system.

AUDIT FINDINGS

Audit findings were completed in excel on laptops. This proved to be inefficient, thus rendering the audits vulnerable to inaccuracies and in some cases false information. A DEVUM built mobile app was a welcome addition to solve this significant issue.

MOBILE PAGE BUILDER provided the means to create a bespoke android application which was deployed to company-issued mobile devices allowing auditors to complete inspections in the field and management to verify the same.

REPORTING

Compiling reports was a manual and time-consuming process that required multiple cross verifications to validate the data. Management, as a result, were often not addressing current real-time data and basing decisions on information that was often in excess of a 3 weeks old.

The DEVUM REPORTING ENGINE provided instant reports on demand, with powerful data visualization and analytics to both the contractor and their client.
